Overview
Tower Drill ("the App") is developed and maintained by TXN LLC. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we handle information when you use our iOS application.
Data Collection
Tower Drill does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. Practice progress, transcripts, and a limited number of Tape Review recordings can be stored only on your device.
Specifically, the App does not collect:
- Personal information (name, email, phone number, address)
- Location data
- Device identifiers or fingerprints
- Usage analytics or behavioral data
- Crash reports or diagnostics
- Health or fitness data
- Financial information
- Contacts, photos, or other device content
Speech Recognition
Tower Drill uses on-device speech recognition to evaluate your radio communication responses. All speech processing happens entirely on your device. No audio recordings or transcriptions are transmitted to any server, including our own.
Transmission Replay
The "Hear Yourself" and Tape Review features record push-to-talk transmissions so you can replay and compare them. Recent recordings are retained only inside the App's local storage on your device; older recordings are removed automatically. They are never transmitted anywhere. You can remove all saved practice recordings and transcripts at any time with Reset Practice Progress in Settings.
Airport Data and Location
Practice airport information (runways and frequencies) comes from the FAA's public NASR database and is bundled inside the App. Tower Drill does not use or request your device's location; you choose your practice airport manually.
Optional Apple Intelligence
On supported devices, the App can use Apple's on-device system language model to provide more varied practice. Processing happens on the device through Apple Intelligence. No prompts, responses, audio recordings, or training data are sent to Tower Drill servers. Core guided lessons do not require Apple Intelligence.
In-App Purchases
Tower Drill offers an optional in-app purchase processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not have access to your payment information, Apple ID, or purchase history. Apple's handling of purchase data is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Third-Party Services
Tower Drill does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, tracking, or social media SDKs. The App does not contain any advertisements.
Data Storage
Your lesson progress, app preferences, practice history, transcripts, and saved Tape Review audio are stored locally on your device using standard iOS storage mechanisms. This data is not accessible to us and is not transmitted anywhere. It may be included in your standard iCloud or device backups if you have those enabled. Reset Practice Progress removes the practice history while preserving your setup preferences.
Children's Privacy
Because Tower Drill does not collect any data from any user, it is safe for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 or any other age group.
Changes to This Policy
If we update this privacy policy, we will post the revised version on this page with an updated effective date. Since we do not collect email addresses or contact information, we encourage you to review this page periodically.
